Visited Centennial Park in Cairns and visited the site where Mum had been painting in the 1980's and had sighted a crocodile which approached her. She left quickly and discreetly, she says.
These big lily pads in the foreground were a metre across, with not a jacana to be seen!
Not sure what this is but loved the shape - quite a tall tree.
Glad Clover is now feeling better after her association with such dubious doctor. Did you get to see said doctor's qualifications? Your tree looks to Brown Dog like a Brachychiton rupestre (bottle tree). Endemic to inland southern Queensland and is normally shorter but in Cairns - anything goes.

The doctor was obviously qualified as he displayed high quality grease in copious quantities under his fingernails, and was in possession of a fine sense of humour. Clover came back frisky and ready for the road.
