The main reason for our trip South is to look at real estate, either to confirm or replace our place at Bega as the site for our future home. So here we are in Moruya and its time to have a good look at this area. A few hours on AllHomes, a few visits to agents later and we have identified one or two possibles. This one is Block 4 Dwyers Ridge Estate, Moruya. A somewhat challenging proposition, steepish, granite outcrops, some humungous trees, native vegetation subject to protection and no dam. But lovely views, rich dark soil it could be fantastic - after about 25 years of work...
Then there was the lovely one at Bodalla, with 3 fat horses who cantered up to inspect us as we were inspecting their home. But that one had clearly been inundated in recent rains, there were plates of bitumen washed off the road and carried 25 metres onto the block by whatever torrent had rushed through it...Hmm.
We looked at many, many others. Mostly not suitable. Not convinced by this area either - we think our hearts have been given to the Bega/Merimbula area.
But we will keep looking.
