Scrabbling

Thought you might like to see one of the lovely pastries they sell at the Tathra Bauhaus Bakery, along with the warm sourdough loaf David rode out on his bike to buy for breakfast this morning, while I was drinking my cup of tea in bed and waiting for the shower water to heat up again...

Yes, I know, it's very naughty but we needed the sustenance, and anyway, Norman Swan revealed a similar weakness for patisseries on the Health Report yesterday, so that makes it OK, right? We had a day full of appointments today, saw a couple of real estate agents and a lot of properties. Saw the council and got the answers to a whole lot of questions about what we can and cannot do on our existing Bega property which has an old farmhouse on it. Saw a lawyer about removing the Right of Way currently burdening the title of that property and inhibiting how we might be able to develop it. All very uncertain still.

Came home and devoured the leftover lamb tagine with cous cous and a nice shiraz, followed by a cleansing bout of Scrabble. David (the Silver Fox) was needing a win to recover his shattered reputation, having lost the last few. Well, tonight he scored 489 and won. But I fought back, with 465. Total score a record 954. Then we posted off our solution to Saturday's Canberra Times Cryptic in the hope of winning a dictionary. After that, chocolate and a cup of tea. No-one could accuse us of not trying to keep our brains sharp. Clogged arteries perhaps, but exercised brains.

  1. Plowing - sounds like the English that I know has been corrupted by those eminent citzens from the US simply to bolster david's ego. A paltry 489 and >900 total score; and only two seven letter words. Must try harder and consult the dictionary more - plowing is just absurd!
