Big news

Well, the big news for this week is that daughter Lian and her partner Matt have announced their engagement! She tells me he was the complete romantic, dressed in his best suit to take her out to dinner and arranged for the champagne and ring to be waiting on the table back home. He had been secretly searching for the perfect antique diamond ring for months, having recruited his mother (and me) for advice in the process. Sprang the question and surprised her. She is delighted. So are we. Here it is, the betrothed hand.
