The menu was redolent of traditional French cafe choices - crepes with asparagus and chicken and a green salad was my pick. Dessert included creme brulee, chocolate mousse and a cheese platter. Sure enough, the maitre d' turned out to be a genuine real live French person, been here for only 6 weeks. He gallantly replied to my question, in French, as to whether he liked the area, with a long and detailed response, in French. I understood some of it.
This morning, Sunday, we were up early preparing our caravan Clover for viewing by prospective buyers. They liked it but offered 2.5K under our asking price, so that's where it stands. It's already a bargain, and we don't need to give it away. After they left it was good to hear from our architecture team, Matt and Trisha, proposing lunch at the pub on the water at Harrington. Lunch out two days running! Unheard of! Here's the scene. Everything went wonderfully well until the country music band arrived and set themselves up two tables away, at a volume incompatible with further conversation. It's not that I'm allergic to country music per se, I like KD Lang for example, but these guys were...not KD Lang.
