Please don't rain

Please don't rain.  Not tonight.  And not before afternoon tea time tomorrow. The skies looked clear at 6pm, but the BOM website shows some nasty little isolated thunderstorms building up and boiling about in this mid north coast area that might, just might, spoil The Pour.  Yes, tomorrow is the biggest day so far on the build. Pouring the slab. The site is ready, the concrete pumping truck is booked. It's go, go, go from 7am. We just need to be a bit lucky with the weather.

Here's the feverish activity of the last couple of days.

(Below) The concrete crew laying plastic sheeting and reinforcing mesh over the foundations

Formwork is erected around the entire perimeter of the slab area

Drainage of the foundations is in place

Stirrups installed, and reinforcing rods laid down and taped.

In the rest of the world around here, the weather is cooling. The autumn toadstools are appearing.  This one was as tall as a toddler.  Well, not quite, but nearly.
