Today we had lunch at the Taree Aquatic Club with an International Author. The kindest and friendliest person you could ever wish to meet. Also, she is a trombone player. Wendy is our friend Chris's cousin from the UK, and she has been staying with them for the last week; the book she is authoring is about many generations of their large extended family. With computer assistance from Chris, this 645 page collection of histories is now nearly ready to be printed. Here she is with David and Chris at Taree airport, just before she left. It inspires me to read the similar book that has been printed about my forbears, sitting neglected in storage, The Story of the Venning Family deserves study, I have now decided.
After lunch, David and I took ourselves to the Manning Regional Art Gallery. Standing in the courtyard outside, David was monstered by one of the sculptures.
There were some good things in there. There is a mosaic path leading to the door depicting the twin deltas of the Manning River (on which Taree sits). We are very proud of our twin deltas around here. The only ones in the Southern hemisphere they say. Do you believe that? Not sure I do.
