Every day in every way, I am getting better and better

Repeat after me: "Every day in every way, I am getting better and better"

Emile Coue, you may be on to something.

Today, David was better than yesterday.  Here he is, looking even better than yesterday, and solving clues on the cryptic crossword.

And here he is, taking his first ever thyroxine tablets.  These will be part of his menu for the rest of his life, because he now has no thyroid gland. But that is better than the alternative.

The third floor of St George Private Hospital has a rather spectacular view over Botany Bay. You can watch the planes landing and also gaze over the breakers on the point.

Above is the view from what we assume to be the Rupert Murdoch suite, a rather salubrious private room opposite the room David is in.

The view from David's room (above) is slightly less uplifting.  But just around the corner is this magnificent establishment.

That's right, this is one of the private clinics set up by my brother Derek. He also works in the public sector, being the Roentgenfuhrer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8XzR-BYv1s or in other words, Head of Radiology, at St George Hospital and a number of others in the southeast region of Sydney and down the coast.
