The inaugural pizza cook-up experimental lunch was held on Sunday at Chris and Robyn's place in Forster. Chris has constructed, with David's help, a pizza oven in their backyard. What a thing of beauty it is. Is there anything that tastes quite as good as a home made wood fired pizza? This was an experiment in timing, heat levels generated and so on. The oven took a while to get up to heat, but by about 1pm it was full of glowing red coals that could be raked back to provide a cooking surface par excellence. We all ate prodigious amounts of pizza followed by David's Gramma Crumble and could barely move by mid afternoon. I shall have to do something drastic soon or I will grow out of all my clothes.
