Exchange of contracts

Today we signed the documents to exchange contracts on our future land. So that is the perfect excuse for the glass of champagne I am enjoying and the Barclay's oysters we are about to breathe up.

I'm trying to think of anything interesting we did today and friends, apart from seeing the conveyancer, there was NOTHING out of the ordinary.  It was a day of chores, washing, car cleaning, shopping, packing, going to Bunnings, the chemist... and so on. But tomorrow, there will be a brand new day and we are off and outta here early, heading north for Emerald Beach.

Well, we did have a nice scramble over Diamond Beach rocks which are beautiful shades of, guess what: green greys and rusty ochres.  Just like the shell from yesterday. No photos, sorry. Camera did its usual thing of hiding in the car.  We picked up a couple of the smaller rocks and took them to the paint section of Bunnings to match them to similar sample cards. The colour scheme continues to evolve. We are contemplating the possibility of walls in the colour of sand and also wet sand.  And a kitchen splashback in glass like the water under the Forster bridge at midday, that liquid aquamarine that invites you to dive in and immerse and surround yourself in its glowing colour.

  1. Sacrilege - how can anyone say that going to the temple of Bunnings is a non-event? And how come you were so busy that the tinnie with the fringe on top could not be viewed?

Congratulations and champagne with oysters well deserved.

  2. Congrats on exchanging contracts and starting to head north again. We have returned from Straddie on a very wet morning, cycling in the rain and we both have wrinkly feet, but mine are red because of the dye in my shoes. NSI was fantastic and we will tell you about it when we pass again, as we must do in the next week or so.
