And now, back to work

This morning, as we packed up to leave Byron Bay, it went all cloudy and lowering, then the pittering began, which soon turned into pouring and made the whole process so much more fun! Not.

Met friends Marg and Keir at Kingscliff, just south of Tweed Heads for an early lunch. They were heading back south en route home to Canberra after their excellent adventures in Queensland. Marg and Keir perpetrated the brown balls practical joke on us in Port Macquarie, and retribution was on our minds. But a suitable moment to peg their backs with said brown balls did not present itself...so we resorted to psychological torture and told them - You'll keep. Watch your backs...They drove off in a gibbering mess, checking eachother's backs, bags, the vehicle and so forth.  Heh, heh. They had some ball-related observations about the election, along the lines of  it being a well-hung result and so forth. Vintage Keir.

By early afternoon we had reached the Gold Coast and spent a couple of hours going through about 10 display houses at Riverstone Crossing/Upper Coomera.  Gathering ideas for TGBP, the great building project. Liked the colours of this one.

Some of the places were very grand indeed.

Some had features we liked, some not.  This bathroom was right over the top.
We must have disappointed a lot of the sales staff who were sitting in lonely splendour in these houses. We seemed to be the only lookers.  I suppose it's busier on the weekends.

  1. And we will keep!! We have spent the last two days emptying the kayak, the van and the car, trying to find a litle pair of brown or pink balls hanging somewhere insipid, but no avail. The hunt continues.
