Toilet Paper

It was a delight to see David's brother Peter and also Elaine.  They had just dropped off their four grandchildren after looking after them for 12 days while Greg and Kath were having a well-earned holiday in Europe. They were able to stay awake until quite late in the evening, an amazing feat in the circumstances.

We updated eachother about family doings while devouring non-caravan food, a roast dinner with home grown snow peas and lemon delicious pudding with GSY (Greek Style Yoghurt).  Plus all the leftover wine on which we could lay our collective hands, about six half empty bottles, from memory. We have recently discovered, at Coles Liquorland, a stock of cleanskins enigmatically named "soft fruity red".  This gentle, very drinkable wine slips down so easily that it is almost worth the headache that seems always to follow. Our theory is that some winemaker discovered a couple of barrels of forgotten something out in the back shed and is selling it off.

But the biggest delight of Peter and Elaine's place was the toilet paper. You see, dear readers, the caravan's Thetford requires a particular, thin, easily dissolving special brand. And caravan parks, or Resort Leisure Centres as they prefer to be known, specialise in those big contraptions that dispense metres of tissue paper designed to look as if it will be helpful while not actually being helpful. So it was nice to spend a night in the company of good old Kleenex.  Also to sleep in a bed with space on either side. Tonight we will be in Forster, so its on the road again.

  1. Underwhelmed by Nowra and its environs - no surprise there! Will we ever catch up with you?? On the 27th July, we will hit Treachery Camp, just south of Forster for a few days, then Port M for the weekend, then on to Coffs. At this rate, by then, you will be close to the NT border.
