A Night at the Prom

Tonight, we are at The Prom. Wilson's Promontory. More of that next time. We left Leongatha today after a wonderful few days enjoying the hospitality at the Pascuzzi's.  The Southern Gippsland area is just beautiful, soft green grass everywhere, healthy lush vegetation, edible soil, lots of interesting people and nice little townships.  Is it on our possible-home list? Hmm...but the downsides: maybe cold and grey for just too long each year, and as for the beach, we are spoiled by the NSW south eastern seaboard, nothing compares.

 But just look at this, though.  This is the garden we visited yesterday, of Pam and Chris's next door neighbors. Jane and her husband have been there only 16 years but the place is a food and flower forest. They virtually live off their spring watered 10 acres, growing all kinds of fruit, as well as nuts, veg, flowers, sheep and poultry. They also built a comfortable mudbrick home. Jane is an artist, as was her father.

Later, we went to Pam and Chris' antiques shop at Leongatha.  Chris works in Melbourne as well, this is a sideline, really.  But what a little treasure house.

At the little nearby township of Merboo North, friends of theirs have set up Dalliance, a "Chocolaterie and Providore". A great spot for lunch.  And busy, considering this was a Monday in the middle of winter.

Do you remember the pink fluffy balls from our first-night hot water bottles? Vincent the male model in Pam's spare room was able to demonstrate a use that I know many of our readers will have been too polite to suggest. Vincent is a very handsome chap, but troubled...he has lost half his left ear. And, it seems, all his clothing, except for the pink handcuffs he was wearing earlier. Do you like his expression? What about the body language?
