Hello again!
The last post was in December of last year and now it's nearly ANZAC day, so it seems appropriate somehow to start up the blog again. David will be there for the proper Last Post, at 6 am in Tuncurry on 25 April when his new concert band does its thing at the dawn service at the Tuncurry Cenotaph. Followed by breakfast at MacDonalds, then a march,, while playing, to Forster Cenotaph.
Yes, we are entering into life on the Mid North Coast. We finally moved here and into a rented townhouse on 1 April (no joke). Lots has happened since I last wrote. But I'll go into that later. For now, I just want to show you where we're living. It's a very modern, 3 bedroom townhouse in a place called Tallwoods Estate http://www.tallwoods.com.au/, about halfway between Forster and Taree and only 5 minutes from where our block of land is at Diamond Beach.
It's been fun setting it up. We didn't have enough furniture so have patronised the garage sale and auction shop circuit, and bought super cheap stuff and cleaned it all up. The decor is a bit basic, the good stuff is still in storage in Canberra, but we feel quite civilized and settled, after nearly two years of mobile living on a very minimal kit. It will be fine living here while we get The Dream House planned and built.
We've set up house just in the nick of time. David's Mum, Marjory has been finding it difficult to manage living alone in Cairns, so in a few days, she will be arriving to live with us.
Next post, I'll fill you in on what's been happening for us since December.
