We have a recently arrived family member from Cairns, who needs to be encouraged and delighted by the beautiful environment and the perfect weather in these here parts. Instead of which, it's all overcast and squelchy underfoot, and water just keeps coming down out of the sky. No sitting around on the balcony for us! But I no complain.
Yesterday we had a meeting with a local architect and his wife, who is a designer. http://swellarchitects.com/index.html This team are recent arrivals in this area and seem very experienced and capable, but not overly busy yet (because they have only been here since February). We liked what they said and we are hopeful they can help us through the design impasse we seem to be experiencing in getting our dream house plans finalised. We have been granted an extension of time to get started, until the end of October, so that's a relief. Otherwise we would be up for around $10K stamp duty. Hopefully won't take that long.
Spent today shopping, having coffee with friend Heather, visited the library and the senior cits and the arts and craft centre with Marjory. Plus a visit to the physio to get her knee looked at. Great $10 lunch on the waterfront at Forster (The Reef Cafe): barramundi, chips and salad.
