I didn't know magpies foraged on the beach, but they do!
There were two pods of dolphins just off the beach, lazily heading north at walking pace. We paced them for a good couple of kilometres.
Soft rock cliffs in beautiful colours. There were warrigal greens growing in a soak at the base.
Sand cliffs where the big seas of last winter must have been at work.
At the northern end of Diamond Beach is Saltwater National Park, on the other side of Khappinghat Creek. We had previously done a walk to Khappinghat Creek, coming in off Old Soldier's Road. http://rovrallover.blogspot.com/2010/11/khappinghat-nature-reserve.html This shot (below) shows the tide marks dried on the strand between the beach and the creek.
Saltwater National Park on the other side of the creek. There is a road into this area. A sea eagle snatched something as we watched and retired to one of those trees to have its lunch.
It was low tide, these rocks must usually be under water - all green with fish nibblies
The beauty of little beach rocks just delights me.
Why would you go to Barbados, or Cannes, or Hawaii?
