Basil took David out fishing in his tinnie, then later we harvested huge oysters and mussels from the beach, and smoked them open in his shed. Terry and Basil grow all kinds of vegetables. We had brought gifts of very superior sourdough bread and brioche buns from Jackman and McRoss Bakery in Hampden Road across from our B&B in Battery Point, but somehow they seemed superfluous.
Basil is not so well these days, and was in bed early after such a full day, some wine and a hundred anecdotes, as well as showing us so many of his treasures.
