Home free

Its so nice to be home again, the two of us. Last Sunday I drove to Sydney to spend the weekend at Peter and Elaine's with David. On Tuesday David had an appointment with a new specialist, Dr Stephen Tisch a neurologist specialising in movement problems, who is a friend of Florin's. These medical specialists are so impressive and work so hard: our appointment was at 6.15pm after his hospital rounds.

Helped Peter and Elaine with some of the tasks to get their Hornsby house ready for sale - bit of gardening for David and I had fun rearranging furniture (with Peter's blessing!). They are on a tight time line to get it all done. The place is looking great since being repainted.

It was freezing in Hornsby. I was thinking of home and also remembering the previous weekend when I'd been for a swim with Linda at the new heated outdoor pool near their place in Surry Hills.

After the specialist appointment, we had a good dinner out in Oxford Street at Santorini's, a Greek place. Dimitri (who else?) cooked our calamari and chili mussels. Great Greek salad too. We made such a mess of the tablecloth it was embarrassing. Had to slink out. Drove back to Diamond Beach the following morning and it was so good to be home, especially for David. He had been away nearly a month.

Back in Forster, and I am very envious of Chris and Robyn's recently acquired block of land next door to their house. Why? Well, it has spotted gums, plus boulders. The boulders were hidden under the ground and were unearthed during driveway excavations. The spotted gums were already there. Our spotted gums are currently an idea about where to source the seeds. Could be a while before they look like these!

Sydney rock orchid and some crucifix orchids from the Hornsby garden. Thanks, Elaine.

We've named the butcher birds B1 and B2. This is B1 making a beautiful song of thanks for his chicken scraps. We think they missed us.
