Today, Mae felt well enough to go out. She was given new anti-nausea meds intravenously at hospital yesterday and today was a better day. We decided on a visit to Tulip Top Gardens on the Federal Highway.

It is a private garden open only for the same four weeks as Floriade and is a beautiful and elegant labour of love by the couple who own it.
Over a thousand blossom trees plus sweeping beds of flowers, and a little waterfall and creek.
Very well worth a visit, especially as your admission includes tea and coffee, plus sausage sandwich. Classical music plays from speakers scattered about, there are chairs everywhere so you can just sit peacefully and soak it in.
Mae managed the steep path up to the lookout, where we sat for a while and gazed. The whole place is an amazing achievement.
Bridal plans are not to be, however. The gardens are closed in May, the proposed date.

We all loved our visit. David asked Mae what was her favourite thing about the place. Was it the flowers, the petals on the water, the vista over the view, the perfumes? No, it was this shingleback lizard we spotted. He was a beauty, I have to agree, but...But Mae just loves animals.
