If the sandals could speak...

If the sandals could speak, what stories they could tell!

About a week before we went to Nowra for Lian and Matt's wedding, David lost his favourite sandals.  Well actually his only sandals, the Colorado ones, bought on special. Not easy to get size 12 good quality comfy sandals, so he was berating himself somewhat about not being safe to be in charge of his own life and so forth. Some days later after our return, his deep storage memory yielded the information that they must have been left on the beach , it would have been about 10 days prior. Obviously gone by now.  Washed out to sea, carried off by a dog or picked up by some lucky person in need of sandals...

Thought we'd go for a swim. Parked at the pool end of the beach.  I casually enquired, where did you think you left your sandals?  Oh, on the sand around near here, he says. Is that them, I asked? There was a pair of sandals sitting on top of a bollard, right beside the path.  David's sandals. Some considerate Hallidays Pointer had retrieved them, put them on display and there they still were, patiently waiting for the best part of two weeks. Like faithful hounds, watching all the comings and goings. And no-one had taken them. Heartwarming story, huh?

We love living in this area.
