Copa Cabana

All the while we have been thinking and planning and talking and investigating our proposed new house without, so far, a sod having been disturbed on the actual block, David's brother Peter, together with Elaine, have had their old beach house at Copa Cabana taken away and a new beach house built! We spent a very delightful few days there together with them and also Greg, Kath and their four children plus Charlie the labrador. It's a great house for a crowd. Amazingly, it arrived on huge trucks, in four pieces, and was bolted together and finished on site. It is nearly impossible to tell it was prefabricated.  The end result is very pleasing. Hmmn.  Maybe?

Combined muscle power of Greg, David and Peter, supplemented by a helpful chap walking past, finally shifted this rock to the position where the aesthetics committee deemed it should go. As he leaves, the helpful chap says, "well, I'm just off to me chiropractor now".... A trip to the beach to recover not recommended that day - five sharks having been sighted in the bay that morning. Plus the water was sooo cooold!

A family of kookaburras inhabits the backyard.  They look very matching posed on the blue balcony.

The Baulkham Hills Humes love all kinds of games. Flynn was introduced to the vicious competitiveness of a Hume family Scrabble game, and Cooper learned dominoes

Jemma and Flynn both play soccer so this major national game at Blue Tongue Stadium in Gosford was essential viewing and we all attended. It was between their favourite team, the Central Coast Mariners and Melbourne Victory (featuring no 22: Harry Kewell) I declared for Melbourne but we was thrashed by the local side, with home town hero Matt Simon scoring 2 goals in his final game for the team. We Melbourne supporters were a tiny minority. I see on the news today that the Victory coach has now been sacked! Harry Kewell looked bored, by the way and didn't score a goal.

This series of photos documents David's 60th birthday present from Linda and Peter - a new coffee machine.  Very timely as the old one (below) failed with a spectacular bang a few weeks ago.

We are back home in Hallidays Point now. A swim every morning, the water delightful, warm, clear and no sharks. Not that I'm comparing...
